As a lesbian, I've often been asked to choose between my love for firearms and my sexual orientation. But why should I have to? Why can't I be both? It's time we break free from the stereotypes that say women who love guns are somehow less feminine or less queer. The truth is, being a lesbian gun owner is not only possible but also empowering.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I've learned that intersectionality is key to understanding the complexities of our experiences. As a gun owner, I've also come to realize that the right to bear arms is not just about personal protection or hunting – it's about being able to defend oneself and one's community.
I never thought I'd find a community that shares my passions for both guns and being queer. But, surprisingly, there are many of us out there! Whether it's through online forums or local shooting ranges, we're finding each other and building a sense of belonging.
